I visit a lot of blogs (if we are being honest, probably too many for the amount of free time that I have). There are an amazing number of very talented writers, videographers , etc. out there. There are also a lot of people with way too much time on their hands (they probably don’t spend all their free time surfing blogs). I found this great video on the site Wanna Smile. Alright, the person making this video probably falls into the too much time on his or her hands category, although as the proud owner of Oreo, the 2-ton cat, I might be willing to spend a little less time surfing if I could get him to use the treadmill.
This gives me a great idea. Since I am wasting so much time randomly reading blogs, I think I will share some of my favorite finds with you, my readers. Starting on Saturday, September 28, I am going to review a blog every day for a week (yay, an excuse to surf. "Sorry honey, I can’t do the laundry, I have to surf the Web. I am doing research"). I figure if I am spending this much time on the Web, someone might as well benefit.
I have another idea. If you are like me and spend way too much time on the Web, you probably have some favorite blogs or sites. Submit your favorite blog or site to Small Town Mommy for consideration for review (it can even be your own). I am looking for the funniest (made you laugh out loud at work), the warmest (made you well up a little), the most delicious (the recipes and photos made you hungry right after you ate), or the most helpful (could be so many categories). Or feel free to make up your own category for a blog you really love. I will publish a review in every category (yes, I will need to think of more categories, but it’s my blog, I can do what I want).
You can submit your suggestions in the comments section below or send an email to anne (at)smalltownmommy.com (if you add me to your spam list, I will hunt you down). Remember, the final arbiter of taste will fall to Anne from Small Town Mommy (alright, I may consult the hubby and kids). I will look at all submissions ("Sorry, honey, I can’t make dinner, I am surfing the Web"). If yours doesn’t make the cut, please do not feel offended. I have what are probably very arbitrary requirements and that just means the blog didn’t fit those ideals. If I was to include all my favorite blogs, I could offer a year of reviews ("Sorry, honey, I can’t do any Christmas shopping, I have to surf." Hmmm). No porn, no hate sites and no virus spreaders. I am torn on questionable language. Some of my favorite sites offer questionable language so I think they can be included and if I review them I will include a warning.
I look forward to seeing everyone’s submissions!
