Most of today was spent talking about sex. One of the groups I work with is The Medical Center for Female Sexuality. Today, we had a film crew come into the office to put together a segment on female sexual dysfunction. You know those 2 minute segments you watch on the news? They take 3-4 hours to film. I spent most of the afternoon escorting a film crew through the various places they wanted to film.
We had a patient and her husband come to speak about their experiences. It is very moving because they claim the treatment changed their lives and saved their marriage. We filmed an interview with our clinical director discussing treatment. We also filmed a bunch of little segments that take a lot of time for only 2 seconds of story. All of this takes a lot of time.
It is going to be a great segment and I can't wait to see it. Next time you watch a feature segment on the news, think about how long it actually took to shoot that segment, remembering that each different background takes an entirely new camera set-up.
